Class 4 and 5 took part in an intimate Remembrance service today in Holy Trinity Church. Mike and Emma spoke about the importance of remembering those that have fallen in conflicts around the world and the importance to love your friends and enemies alike.
For those of you that aren’t aware, the Church has a memorial plaque for those Heworth residents who died during WW1/The Great War of 1914-1918. It was lovely for the children to be able to interact with this with it prompting some discussions as to whether any of those that fell attended our school.

As part of UK Parliament Week, we have also voted for the names of our new Houses/Teams. Children chose from over 20 ‘change makers’ who are people who have been courageous in standing up for what they believe will make a difference to others.
