Welcome to Friends of Heworth!
We’re the Friends of Heworth, a Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and registered charity
made up of volunteer parents and carers who are dedicated to supporting Heworth School.
Throughout the school year, we raise funds to enhance your child’s school experience by
providing facilities, equipment and activities that are not covered by the school budget.
What We Do
In recent years we have raised nearly £30,000 thanks to the amazing support of our school
community, and these funds have helped to provide:
- A refurbished library with a wide range of new books
- Subsidies for school trips, outings and travel
- Musical instruments and sports equipment
- The outdoor classroom and improvements to the playground and sports facilities
How We Raise Funds
Throughout the school year we organise a variety of fun and engaging events, including:
- Summer Fairs
- Themed Discos
- Non-Uniform Days
- Christmas Activities
- ….and much more!

school playground and always happy to say hello. If you’re not sure who we are just ask your
child’s teacher to point us out.
