YoYo at Heworth Primary School

YoYo, founded in 1996, is a non-denominational charity working with York schools and churches to bring the Christian faith alive. Janine and Izzi, our local YoYo team members, join us regularly to:

Effectively communicate the Christian faith to children: YoYo works closely with teachers at Heworth Primary to integrate Christian values and stories into the curriculum in engaging and age-appropriate ways. This might involve assemblies, classroom visits, and creative activities.

Support Heworth Primary in teaching about Christianity: YoYo provides resources, training, and guidance to teachers at Heworth Primary on how to effectively teach about Christianity within the context of Religious Education.

Connect Heworth Primary with other places of worship and Christian experiences: YoYo facilitates partnerships between Heworth Primary, local churches and our local community, enabling students to experience different expressions of Christian faith, engage in community service projects and understand how Christianity has developed over time in York.

Encourage and support Christian staff at Heworth Primary: YoYo provides support and encouragement to Christian staff members at Heworth Primary as they integrate their faith into their work and live out their values within the school community.
